In I May Fall into the Sound the audience is drawn into an intimate engagement with the disappearing island of Massancummock. Rising sea levels are steadily wearing away its shoreline, threatening its role as a vital nesting site for one of the largest colonies of the endangered bird species Sterna Dougallii. Through the interplay of sound, visuals and scenography, the work seeks to establish a personal connection to environmental degradation, using the erosion of the human body as a metaphor for ecological loss.
